BIOGRAPHY

Without doubt Juan Castro Nalli is one of the best contemporary composers of his style & musical background.

Born in Lima, he started his piano lessons at the “Inmaculado Corazón” School. Juan Castro Nalli continued his studies under Edgar Valcárcel and received invaluable & generous guidance and advice from the disthinguished composer, pianist and teacher, Rosa Mercedes Ayarza de Morales.

After graduating as a Lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, he won a scholarship from the Instituto de Cooperación Iberoamericana of Spain to study at the Royal Conservatory in Madrid, and also studied there under Enrique Igoa, Carmen Rosa Capote and Americo Caramuta.

His first composition “Step by Step…Once Again” with the libretto of one of the most important composers, lyricists and singers of Perú, Chabuca Granda, was a record hit in Perú and is often performed by María Dolores Pradera in Spain, and broadcast by Deutsche Welle in Germany, RAI in Italy, the BBC of London ant TV5 in France, among others.
